Good performance, but in the end a little bit bad luck
Anthony West and Dirk Heidolf, both riders of Kiefer BOS
Racing did a allways improving performance at the first day
of the bwin.com GP of Com. Valenciana in Valencia. Unluckily
had Anthony on his fast lap a bit too much traffic and he
lost a good laptime when he wants to pass an rider of the
tem BQR. He is now on the provisional 12th position. Dirk
heidolf was also on a fast lap, but he crashed with a higsider.
He has a bit pain, but he is not really injured. For him it's
today the 16th place. Both riders are getting better and better
with their settings of the Aprilia bikes. So the team is looking
forward for tomorrow.
Anthony West (finished 12th)
"It could be better, because the engine was not perfect.
We changed the rear spring after the morning and that was
better. I had also a bit of problems with bouncing on the
frontwheel, but that is also better after I used a different
fronttyre, it seems more stable in the corner now. I think,
on this track in the first section I feel really really good
and the bike feels perfect. In the last section I miss a lot
of accelleration as well. The bike is not accellerating, I
came against other riders onto the straight and I had no chance
to follow them out of the corners. I'm loosing also a lot
in the last corner with no accelleration. But we have to change
the gearbox to get more power for it. In my last and fastest
lap, I tried to pass a rider of BQR but then he brakes and
I had not enough time and my fast lap was gone."
Dirk Heidolf (finished 16th)
"It was very positve, that we did a lot of changes on
the setting of the chassis. We tried also a new fronttyre
at Anthonys bike, but it worked not so good till now. Tomorrow
we try also a different gearbox, to get a better accelleration
and I hope we can find a part of the time that we lost today
on the track. If we find only a bit of time, it could be easy
to jump some positions forward on the grid. Dirk was also
fast on his last lap, we pushed him a lot to go faster...
He had new tyres on his bikes and crashed, ok that could be
happen..."
