Samsung ISU World Cup Short Track 2007/2008
The Samsung ISU World Cup Short Track series will consist
of six events, divided into Asian, European and North American
segments.
Starting with the Asian section in Harbin, China, on October
19-21, the first competition of the Short Track season also
marks the inauguration of a new identity for the World Cup
series following the signing a two year title sponsorship
deal with Samsung Electronics. The series has also secured
a new Official Timekeeping and Watch partnership with the
well known watch manufacturer Longines, who have signed a
contract with the ISU through to 2010.
Referred to as the Samsung ISU World Cup Short Track, the
series is held from October to February. During that time
the world’s best short track skaters from over 20 countries
will compete for World Cup titles and prize money. At each
competition the men’s and ladies races will be held
over 500m, 1000m, 1500m and relays. Single distances determine
