ISU World Standing Bonus 2006/2007

With the conclusion of the ISU World Figure Skating Championships 2007 the winners of the ISU World Standing Bonus for the 2006/2007 season have been determined. For the first time, the ISU awards additional prize money to the three skaters/couples per discipline having earned most World Standing points during the 2006/2007 season. The following amounts will be awarded to the concerned skaters/couples:

Ladies & Men Pairs & Dance (per couple)
1st: US$ 45,000 1st: US$ 67,500
2nd: US$ 27,000 2nd: US$ 40,500
3rd: US$ 18,000 3rd: US$ 27,000

In the Ladies, World silver medallist Mao Asada (JPN) and World bronze medallist Yu-Na Kim (KOR) are tied in first place with 2300 points each. Both had successfully competed in the ISU Grand Prix of Figure Skating series before taking their World medals. They both will receive the full prize money for the first place. World Champion Miki Ando (JPN) is ranked third in the bonus standings with 2200 points.

Word silver medallist Daisuke Takahashi (JPN) pocketed the top prize in the Men’s category. He collected 2450 points and edged World Champion Brian Joubert (FRA) by just 50 points. Nobunari Oda (JPN) finished third at 2100 points.

After winning each event they entered this season World Champions Xue Shen/Hongbo Zhao (CHN) also took the World Standing Bonus for the Pairs. Tied in second place are World bronze medallists Aliona Savchenko/Robin Szolkowy (GER) and Dan Zhang/Hao Zhang (CHN), who both will receive the prize money for second place.

Ice Dancing World Champions Albena Denkova/Maxim Staviski (BUL) earned the World Standing Bonus with 2400 points. World silver medallists Marie-France Dubreuil/Patrice Lauzon (CAN) came in second at 2300 points. European silver medallists Oksana Domnina/Maxim Shabalin (RUS) are ranked third with 2250 points.
