ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating 2007 / 2008
The 11th season of the ISU Junior Grand Prix of Figure Skating
begins on 30 August, 2007 in Lake Placid, USA. It is the first
of eight qualifying events leading up to the ISU Junior Grand
Prix of Figure Skating Final to be held in Gdansk, Poland
on 6-9 December, 2007.

Approximately 400 skaters representing at least 35 countries
in Europe, Asia, the Americas, Oceania and South Africa are
expected to participate in the series.
Many top skaters have begun their international careers in
the Junior Grand Prix. A recent example is Yu-Na Kim (KOR),
who became 2005/2006 Junior Grand Prix Champion and subsequently
finished third at the World Figure Skating Championships 2007
in the ladies’ event.
Each skater or couple may compete in up to two of the qualifying
events. Skaters earn points for their final ranking position
and the top eight ladies, men, pairs and ice dancing couples
will qualify for the Junior Grand Prix Final.
The total prize money for the Junior Grand Prix events and
final is $285,000 USD.
