New Championship season gets underway for British Riding

British Riding Clubs kick off their 2008 Championship fixtures
with the finals of the NAF Novice Indoor Show Jumping and
the brand new Winter Dressage Championships.
Generously sponsored by Natural Animal Feeds, both Championships
will take place at Hartpury College, Gloucestershire over
the weekend of 5 and 6 April.
The Championships are open to both Senior and Junior teams
of four, with the best three scores in count. The Seniors
will compete on the Saturday and Juniors on the Sunday.
To get to the final, Riding Club teams will have qualified
at winter area competitions up and down the country. A massive
43 teams will make up the Senior day, with 23 teams contesting
the Novice Indoor Show Jumping, and 20 competing in the Winter
Dressage.
On Sunday 47 teams will make up the Junior day, with 30 teams
contesting the Novice Indoor Show Jumping, and 17 competing
in the Winter Dressage.
Helen Owens, Head of British Riding Clubs, said: "We
are really looking forward to starting the new Championship
season. There are some exciting new classes for our members
this year, one being the new Winter Dressage at Hartpury which
has already proved very popular."
NAF, who will be sponsoring the event for the seventh year,
are also sponsoring the BRC National Championships held at
Lincolnshire Show Ground, on 9-10 September 2008.
