John Ledingham coaching conventions selling out fast
Tickets are selling fast for two British Horse Society coaching
conventions to be presented by Irish International show jumper
John Ledingham next month. Anyone thinking of attending is
advised to move quickly to snap up one of the few remaining
places.
The first of the two training days will be held at Hartpury
College in Gloucestershire on Tuesday 13 May. The second day
will move to the north at Myerscough College in Lancashire
on Thursday 15 May.
John Ledingham is one of Ireland’s most well respected
show jumpers and trainers. With numerous successes such as
back-to-back Hickstead Derby wins in 1994 and 1995, he should
prove a first class host to deliver excellent coaching advice.
Both days will follow the same format, examining successful
course jumping and looking at the horse and rider credentials
needed to achieve this.
Nial Quirke, a grand prix dressage rider who primarily coaches
flatwork and dressage to show jumpers, will accompany John
on both days. Working together they will assess schooling
and discipline between fences and suggest long term development
programmes to meet the needs and requirements of each horse
and rider combination. A range of levels will be assessed
ensuring that the content is applicable to all levels of BHS
instructors.
Margaret Linington-Payne, BHS Director of Standards said:
“John Ledingham is a world renowned professional and
should prove a first class host for this year’s convention.
Tickets have proved very popular and we would urge people
to get their tickets promptly to avoid disappointment.”
The two days are open to all. Further details can be obtained
from the BHS Training Department, 01926 707799. Both days
will count as a suitable refresher training for all Registered
Instructors and contribute 10 hours teaching time towards
those completing PTT logbooks.
