BHS TREC looks forward to new Winter Series after presentation by Kelly and Monty

The winners of the last BHS TREC Winter Series were presented with their trophies by Kelly Marks and Monty Roberts at their Demo at Bishop Burton College, East Yorkshire, on Saturday, 29 September.

Paula Scott, who rides a 13-year-old Exmoor mare, and Lisa Leddicoat, who competed on a former racehorse, received the plates from Monty, while sponsor Kelly gave her wholehearted backing to the growing sport, talking enthusiastically about BHS TREC and showing some of the obstacles that may be encountered on a TREC course, while riding her horse Pie.

The presentation came on the eve of the new Winter Series which promises to be the most exciting yet.

Helen Owens, Senior Executive Competitions and British Riding Clubs, said: "BHS TREC is a growing sport, and after the success of the last Winter Series, we anticipate another successful season this year too.

"The British Horse Society is extremely grateful for the support and enthusiasm Kelly Marks has shown for BHS TREC and for her continued sponsorship of this innovative series. It is open to all and aims to help riders enjoy their horse more, and develop the partnership between horse and rider.

"We are delighted that Kelly is sponsoring the 2007-8 Winter Series and the calendar is filling up fast with dates and venues between now and April. We are looking forward to many more riders having the chance to discover what a fun sport BHS TREC is - thanks to Kelly's involvement."

The Competition is known as the Kelly Marks Perfect Partners BHS TREC Winter series. Between October 2006-April 2007, there were 36 events spread around the UK, involving more than 1,000 riders. More details of the competition and winners are in the Editors' Notes below.

More details on the series and event dates can be found in the Competitions section of the The British Horse Society's website www.bhs.org.uk or by contacting the BHS Competitions Department.
