Olympia to host the British Riding Clubs Quadrille of the
Year 2007
The British Riding Clubs Quadrille Finals will take place
on Wednesday, 19 December at London Olympia Horse Show.
In October, four teams were selected to compete at the prestigious
London Horse Show at Olympia for the chance to be the 2007
Quadrille Champions.
The judges of this year's Quadrille Championships this year
will be British Dressage Chief Executive David Holmes, The
British Horse Society's Chairman Patrick Print FBHS, and fashion
designer and author Julian Seaman.
The Selection Trial was held on 6 October at Addington Manor
Equestrian Centre. A record of 17 teams took part but only
four could go through to perform again at the finals in London:
Moat View - Furious Angels - A Dance Macabre
New Forest Pony Enthusiasts - New Forest Do Se Do'ers
Southern Down - Goldilocks and the 3 Bears
Worlington - Fine and Dandy
The first successful team selected to compete at the finals
was the Furious Angels, from newly affiliated Riding Club
Moat View in Kent.
Two of the Angels were members of last year's winning Quadrille
team 00 Heaven, Licensed to Thrill. This year they have chosen
to perform as "spirits caught between this life and the
next".
The second team are from New Forest Pony Enthusiasts Riding
Club in Hampshire. They will be performing a square dance
theme of "Do Se Do'ers".
Glamorgan Riding Club Southern Down was the third team selected
with Goldilocks and the Three Bears as its chosen theme.
Finally, the fourth team were Fine and Dandy from Worlington
Riding Club in Cambridgeshire. They will be performing as
"Ladies of the Highway".
Set in the spectacular Grand Hall at Olympia, the Final now
in its 14th year, promises once again to be an elaborate display
of colourful costumes and an ever improving standard of horsemanship.
So come along to support your club and don't miss out on this
fantastic show!
