The British Horse Society hosts first Confidence In Coaching
Workshop
The British Horse Society is preparing to stage a workshop
specifically designed for coaches who regularly come into
contact with nervous clients or those suffering from a continuous
lack of confidence.
The one-day course has been designed for coaches who wish
to help riders regain their confidence, giving them the tools
to effectively reduce the fear a rider may have developed
either through an accident or series of incidents.
Many riders continue to struggle with the paralysing effects
of fear. This often includes anxiety, loss of enthusiasm,
adherence, inability to learn effectively, poor performance,
lack of progression and ultimately confidence.
Margaret Linington-Payne, BHS Director of Standards, said:
"This is a new initiative by the BHS and we are pleased
to be able to offer such a helpful and informative course
to all coaches."
Sam Whale, BHS Training Executive, said: "This is an
area which I am sure many of our coaches are faced with on
a regular basis and although many are equipped to deal with
these issues, this course should help strengthen their coaching
skills whilst supplying them with the relevant tools to help
riders overcome these obstacles."
No previous qualifications are required. The day will begin
at 10am and conclude at approximately 15.30pm.
