Christopher Bartle replaces Ingrid Klimke at the Diamond
Jubilee National Instructors Convention
Christopher Bartle FBHS has replaced Ingrid Klimke to present
The British Horse Society's National Instructors Convention
on 18 and 19 October at Addington Manor, Buckinghamshire.
Due to unforeseen personal circumstances Ingrid has unfortunately
had to pull out of the event, which she was due to co-host
with German trainer Christoph Hess. Christopher will now join
Christoph to present the two days, which will cover eventing
at all, levels.
Margaret Linington-Payne, BHS Director of Standards, said:
"We are extremely disappointed that Ingrid can no longer
present the Convention.
"Although we were looking forward to the pairing of Christoph
and Ingrid, Christopher Bartle is an exceptional replacement
and excellent horseman who we are lucky to have secured at
this late stage."
Christopher boasts an impressive CV following a career spanning
the last 35 years. He was a member of the British Dressage
team from 1981 to 1987 and still remains the highest ever
placed British dressage rider to compete at an Olympic games,
achieving 6th place at the Los Angeles Olympics in 1984 with
Wily Trout.
Having achieved initial success in dressage Christopher continued
his competitive career in eventing. He still remains the oldest
competitor to win Badminton Horse Trials in 1998 at the age
of 44. He was a member of the gold medal winning British team
at the European Championships in 1997 and was the reserve
rider for the British Eventing Olympic team in 2000 with Word
Perfect.
Christopher's exceptional competitive and teaching track record
led to him coaching the British Three Day Event team in Atlanta
in 1996 and Sydney in 2000. He currently coaches the German
Olympic Three Day Event team and is an Honorary Fellow of
the British Horse Society.

programme devised earlier in the year. We are incredibly pleased
Christopher has agreed to present this very special two -
day event and look forward to welcoming him to the Convention
in October."
