The British Horse Society's Helen Owens to be Competitions
Senior Executive
The BHS Welfare Department's Senior Executive Helen Owens
is to be the new Senior Executive in the BHS Competitions
& Tourism Department.
Helen came to the BHS as a Graduate Trainee in 2001 after
studying for a BSC(Hons) in Equine Science at Hartpury College
.
Helen then worked as an Assistant BHS Development Officer
for Welfare. In 2003, she was appointed Senior Executive of
the BHS Welfare Department. For the past nine months, she
has been providing maternity cover as the Senior Executive
in British Riding Clubs.
She has a keen interest in equestrianism and has a degree
and a Masters Degree in Equine Science.
Helen said: "While it was a hard decision not to return
to my job in the Welfare Department, I am very excited about
taking on this new challenging role and have lots of ideas
for promoting BHS Competitions and tourism."
Margaret Linington-Payne, BHS Director of Standards, said:
"We are delighted Helen has accepted this position. She
has many ideas and is enthusiastic to move the department
forward in both competitions and tourism."
