First Young Instructor of the Year qualifier 'a great success'
The British Horse Society in conjunction with South Essex
Insurance Brokers (SEIB) has held the first BHS Young Instructor
of the Year qualifier 2006.
BHS Chairman Patrick Print FBHS was presenter at the first
of the 10 qualifiers on 16 May 2006. The day, at Wellington
Riding, in Hampshire, went extremely well and all the attendees
have taken away the valuable comments made to them.
It was a brilliant educational experience for participants.
All those on the course showed promise on their road to becoming
top class instructors.
Workshops are being organised across the UK, in Wales, Scotland,
Northern Ireland and through the regions of England. Eight
applicants will be invited to each workshop and they will
all be led by a Fellow of the BHS. The days are designed primarily
as a valuable educational experience.
Instructors need to hold a minimum of the Preliminary Teaching
Certificate and be under 30 years of age. One person from
each qualifier will go through to the final to be held on
26 October at Warwickshire College.
The winners will receive training grants to help further
their education. All the qualifier days are taking place between
May and September. If you would like to participate, we are
still considering instructors for these days.
