South Essex Insurance Brokers BHS TREC League winners announced
The winners of the 2005 South Essex Insurance Brokers BHS
TREC League are to be awarded their prizes at the glittering
BHS TREC Winter Ball to be held at the Rutland Square Hotel,
Nottingham, on 4 February.
Nicky Mackenzie, SEIB's Marketing Manager, will present the
trophies and prizes to the 2005 winners.
The level 3 & 4 Individual title - along with a beautiful
leather bridle donated by the Worshipful Company of Saddlers
- has been won by Hilary Barnard from Bristol. Hilary has
had an outstanding TREC year - both in domestic competition
and riding internationally in the European Cup TREC League.
The Level 3 and 4 Pairs title was very close, with only one
point separating the champions from the runners-up at the
end of the year. Ian Macalindin and Nigel Robinson finally
won ahead of Kay Newman and Diana Hawkins.
The competition was no less fierce within the combined Level
1 and 2 classes with only two points separating the first
three riders. Rachael Wilmot shared the lead with Martina
Slater but took the title as she had scored more at Championship
events.
Finally, in the Pairs class, there were 10 partnerships all
within five points of each other, making this the most closely
fought class of the year. Lis Rowe and Sarah Sneyd took the
title - again on the basis of their Championship performances.
Robert Jones, The BHS's Senior Executive for Competitions,
said: "The League, so generously supported by South Essex
Insurance Brokers and the Worshipful Company of Saddlers,
always produces an exciting climax to the year, and 2005 has
proved to be the most competitive year to date.
"The winners and their close rivals in the League are
regularly raising the standards of BHS TREC in this country,
and many of these riders are likely to take on their international
rivals in 2006 when the European TREC Championships comes
to Exmoor in September."
