Nations Cup win for Scottish BHS TREC Team
A triumphant Scottish BHS TREC team has returned from the
British Championships having won the Nations Cup, held at
Lowther Park near Penrith, Cumbria.
Following the orienteering section on the Saturday, there
was a very mixed bag of results with Scotland having some
great scores, but also some lower scores.
However, the control of paces and the PTV (cross country
course) on the Sunday led to some great performances and a
victory for Scotland.
Chef d’Equipe Robert Oliver said: “I was very
pleased with the 100 percent commitment from all the Scottish
competitors whether they were in the team or not.”
Individual successes for the Scots saw Kate Ellison win the
Level 3 Individual Championship with Scottish riders Sheila
Watson and Alex Wells coming second and fourth within that
class.
At Level 2, Heather Adam was second individual and Viv Little
and Wendy Kyle second pair. Ian Macalindin was 2nd in the
level 3 pairs and Jenni Free second in the level 4 individual
event.
The Scottish competitors celebrated in the Queens Head pub
in Askham after a very enjoyable and successful event.
