Huge variety of events at Scottish Borders Festival of The
Horse
18-29 May 2005
MORE than 40 equestrian activities are to be on offer during
the 12 days of the Scottish Borders Festival of The Horse.
This exciting event - run by the Scottish Borders branch
of The British Horse Society - has something for everyone,
whether taking part or watching.
Eight guided rides themed on 'Monuments & Cairns' are
to take place this year to give riders an idea of the history
and culture of the Borders.
The Festival includes two days of racing at Kelso, the Floors
Castle Horse Trials, and a Grand Competition Day. Visits to
the yards of top trainers Ian Stark and Clive Storey will
also be held.
Other trips and events include aromatherapy for horses, BHS
TREC training, and a day with classical rider Sylvia Loch.
Past visitors to the Festival have come from all over the
UK. Some bring their own horses, others hire horses locally.
The Scottish Borders Tourist Board can supply addresses of
accommodation for horse and rider. Further programme details
will be available at www.bhsscotland.org.uk festival@bhsscotland.org.uk
or on 01835 863 020.
