The BHS Scotland enters into new equine first aid training
partnership
THE British Horse Society (Scotland) has entered into a new
partnership agreement with CHS Training of Ayrshire to provide
the Equine Specific First Aid Courses (ESFAC) across Scotland.
A recognised and up-to-date first aid training qualification
is an essential prerequisite for inclusion on The BHS register
of instructors.
The BHS ESFAC courses focus on injuries most likely to be
sustained while handling and riding horses, providing basic
first aid training.
For anyone in the equine industry, ESFAC courses are invaluable.
Two-day initial courses are available for those who are new
to first aid training or whose training has lapsed. And there
is a one-day refresher course for those already holding a
First Aid at Work or Equine Specific qualification.
Helene Mauchlen, Scottish Development Officer of The BHS,
said: "Following a lengthy tender process, we are pleased
to announce our new Scottish provider will be CHS Training.
We are looking forward to an enthusiastic uptake of the ESFAC
in Scotland and are drawing up dates for the year."
Morag Cartney, managing director of CHS Training, said: "We
already enjoy a fruitful relationship with The BHS and are
delighted to extend this partnership. We look forward to providing
a comprehensive service to the Scottish Horse World."
