THE BRITISH HORSE SOCIETY WELCOMES NEW DEVELOPMENT OFFICER
FOR EAST
EXPERIENCED rider Jeanetta La-Four has been appointed The
British Horse Society’s Development Officer for the
East of England region.
Jeanetta has been a member of The British Horse Society since
she was 17 years old, and most recently held the post of voluntary
Press Officer for BHS Norfolk. She has a wealth of PR and
marketing experience, having run her own company for a number
of years. She has taken over from Anthea Freemantle, who has
retired after 12 years at the Society.
Jeanetta comes to the BHS with a vast equestrian background.
Having completed her BHS Stage 4 Intermediate Stable Managers’
exam, she now dedicates numerous hours to the show circuit,
judging for organisations such as the British Show Hack, Cob
and Riding Horse Association, Ponies UK, Sports Horse Breeding
of GB, and the Coloured Horse and Pony Society.
Later this year, Jeanetta will jointly judge the prestigious
Ridden Cob classes at the BHS-owned Royal International Horse
Show, Hickstead.
In her spare time Jeanetta looks after SmallFry, a 15.2hh
thoroughbred gelding, recently retired from a highly successful
show career with her. Together they have now started to compete
in affiliated dressage events, with plans to try side-saddle
riding.
Based in Snetterton, Norfolk, Jeanetta lives with her 14-year-old
son, who sometimes doubles as a groom at the weekends, and
Tim, a “terrible terrier who always gets the upper hand”.
Jeanetta said: “I am delighted to be the new BHS Development
Officer for the East. I follow in the footsteps of Anthea
Freemantle, who has done so much for the region, and am looking
forward to providing the same level of support and help to
BHS members and horse lovers in the area as Anthea has in
the past.
“It feels great to be able to combine my passion for
horses with my full time job! As Eastern DO, my area covers
Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex, Hertfordshire, Norfolk,
and Suffolk, and I am looking forward to getting out and about
in the region.”
