METROPOLITAN POLICE TO SET NEC ALIGHT!
Horse of the Year Show (HOYS), the UK’s biggest indoor
equestrian event, is excited to be welcoming the Metropolitan
Police with their high-speed Activity Ride to the NEC Arena
for the very first time. As part of the stunning entertainment
on offer at the greatest ever Horse of the Year Show, the
Metropolitan Police Activity Ride is assured to thrill the
audience and guaranteed to set the NEC alight.
The sensational Metropolitan Police Activity Ride, consisting
of eight active Police Officers and their mounts, will demonstrate
their incredible level of skill and agility, which is a product
of intense and dedicated training. The breath-taking stunts
will include the negotiation of 95 small fences in less than
ten minutes as they jump through fire and strip off saddles
with the aim of showing the public the skills required by
a working police horse on a day-to-day basis.
Alongside the electrifying performance by the Metropolitan
Police, visitors of every age will experience unrivalled entertainment
from an array of displays by the world famous Jean Francois
Pignon, with his beautiful white horses to the Crufts star
and internationally celebrated dog-handler, Mary Ray, in an
innovative display with dressage supremo, Ferdi Eilberg.
Mike Gill, a director of Grandstand Media Limited, organisers
of the Horse of the Year Show commented, “Horse of the
Year Show, renowned for its unparalleled entertainment, is
delighted that the Metropolitan Police Activity Ride are making
their debut performance at the NEC as part of this year’s
biggest ever Horse of the Year Show. The impressive and hair-raising
display is the epitomy of first class entertainment and exceptional
horsemanship and it is this which makes Horse of the Year
Show totally unique.”
Inspector Alan Hiscox, the Metropolitan Police Mounted Branch
Training Manager, expressed his enthusiasm at their attendance,
“The Metropolitan Police are delighted to have the opportunity
of performing at this first class live event and at such a
high profile venue. Our display never fails to evoke a positive
reaction from the crowds and we will be working hard over
the next few months to further enhance our performance and
create a dramatic display for spectators.”
