Horse Show set to thrill
The British Horse Society/Longines Royal International Horse
Show runs from 27-31 July.
Planned activities range from a press conference focusing
on the Society's revolutionary new Geographical Information
System (GIS) to the British Riding Clubs Team Jumping Championship.
The BHS also sponsors a number of classes at the Royal International
Horse Show, held at the All England Jumping Course, Hickstead,
East Sussex, including The Dick Saunders Supreme Ridden Horse
Championship, the Supreme Ridden Pony Championship, and the
BHS Trade Turnout Championship.
The Society also presents the most prestigious of the show's
trophies, including the King George V, the Queen Elizabeth
II, the Winston Churchill and The Dick Saunders Memorial.
The BHS's Chairman Patrick Print FBHS said: "It looks
set to be a marvellous year for The British Horse Society
at the Royal International.
"We are offering a combination of prestigious riding
events sponsored by the BHS and informative presentations
on vital areas such as technology to improve access and rights
of way for riders."
On Thursday 28 July from 1.30pm in the Dick Saunders Pavilion,
Steve Boocock, Director of the NSPCC / Sport England Child
Protection in Sport Unit, will present the Bronze Preliminary
Award for the Child Protection in Sport Standard to BHS Trustee
Donald Kear BHSI and Pat Gaywood, Lead Officer for Equity
and Child Protection for the BHS and the British Equestrian
Federation.
On Friday 29 July from 1.15pm, The British Horse Society
will hold a press conference in the Media Centre. Chief Executive
Graham Cory will unveil the Society's new Geographical Information
Society (GIS) system, which is providing vital intelligence
in the battle for better access and rights of way for riders.
On Sunday 31 July, The BHS's President Noel Edmonds will
host a luncheon for the leading seven President's Ambassadors,
who have all recruited new members to the Society.
Noel will also judge the BHS Supreme Ridden Pony Class, with
Pat Patteson and Jackie Beatham.
