Presentation made to veteran BHS Safety volunteer Pam French
Veteran volunteer Pam French has been given an award for
her service to The British Horse Society - by Trustee Mrs
Liz Akenhead.
Pam - who has given up her spare time for the BHS in South
and East Kent for around 22 years - received a book about
the great equine artist George Stubbs and a beautiful orchid
at the BHS / Longines Royal International Horse Show at Hickstead.
Pam said: "It's been a very enjoyable time doing a very
worthwhile job. I could not have done it without the backup
of such super county people. They were all very good and capable.
"I have seen a tremendous number of changes over the
years."
She has organised thousands of road safety tests during her
time as a volunteer.
Mrs Akenhead, a BHS Trustee, thanked Pam for the BHS and
for all the riders who "you have taken through their
test over all those years".
Claire Aldridge, London regional chairman, thanked Pam on
behalf of all riding and road safety representatives and paid
tribute to Pam's "presence on the committee".
Julian Campbell, Regional Chairman for South East, and the
BHS's South East Development Officer Pat Gaywood were also
at the presentation.
