British Riding Clubs Festival of the Hunter
The 2004 Kbis sponsored Festival of the Hunter took place
on Sunday 16th May. The hunter trial sections saw just under
300 competitors over the course, and there were 90 showing
entries. The day started and ended with fantastic weather
which really set off Robin Dunlop's picturesque venue at Grange
Farm EC.
The course rode well and the results proved this with the
results of both teams and individuals being very close.
The showing classes were of a good standard overall with
the Working Hunter Pony Champion taking the Best in Show and
the Lightweight Champion taking the reserve placing.
Kbis Equine Insurance have sponsored this championship event
for three consecutive years. Liz Prest from Kbis Equine Insurance
said 'the standard of judging was excellent and it was good
to see the judges giving feedback to all of the competitors.'
The Senior Novice Hunter Trials Team Championship went to
Cardiff based Riders 2000 Riding Club. Nantwich Riding Club
took the individual honours with Sophie Lane and Scallioness.
The trophy for the team with the best four scores to count
was awarded to Threewaters RC from Cornwall.
The Junior Novice Hunter Trials Team Championship was taken
by local riders, Huntingdon Riding Club. The Individual title
went to Harriet Williams from Rochdale RC with No Regrets.
The team with the best four scores to count was Carousel RC
from Norfolk.
