“Seize the chance to stop the threat of live exports
of equines for good” says The British Horse Society
The chance to eliminate the threat of live exports of equines
from member states has been offered by The European Commission,
and The British Horse Society is calling for the government
to act now.
Proposed changes to legislation could see the loss of the
‘minimum values’ clause, which currently helps
to make the exportation of live equines for slaughter abroad
an uneconomic process.
The British Horse Society fully supports any legislation
or regulations that will prevent the exportation of live equines,
and hopes the government is quick to act on this golden opportunity.
