BHS Media Manager to leave
British Horse Society (BHS) Media and Public Liaison Manager
Wendy Peckham is leaving the Society at the end of March to
live permanently in Lincolnshire. Wendy, who joined the BHS
eighteen months ago, has commuted on a weekly basis to the
offices in Stoneleigh, Warwickshire, and has decided to spend
more time at home.
Wendy has been the driving force behind the BHS sponsored
Ragwort Control Act, a Private Members' Bill led by John Greenway
MP, and also the Ragwort code of practice to control and prevent
the spread of Ragwort, due to be published by Defra this summer.
"I am sorry to be leaving the society as I have enjoyed
my time here," she said. "There have been many different
projects to work on and it has been an exciting challenge
to ensure that the BHS has received due credit in the media
for all its achievements. The society has turned its fortunes
around from a few years ago; membership is steadily increasing
and people are becoming more aware of it as the leading voice
in equestrianism."
Wendy, whose last working day will be Tuesday 23 March, will
be returning to her previous role as a freelance journalist
and media and PR consultant. She can be contacted on (tel:
01205 480190/07973 218834) or email: wendyatfenfarm@aol.com
