Loop the loop this summer with the British Horse Society!
The British Horse Society is inviting riders from across
the country to ride the Mary Towneley Loop as part of Access
2003. The three-day ride will cover the 45-mile section of
the Pennine Bridleway and will be a great opportunity to experience
the beauty of the breathtaking Lancashire countryside.
Named after the lady who put so much effort in to creating
the ride, the first day of the Mary Towneley Loop expedition
will begin at Peers Clough Farm, ending at Blackshaw Head
some 18 miles later. Day two will head for Whitworth, through
the Shore Moor, and day three will see a full circle back
to Peers Clough Farm, via Royle Moor – the highest point
of the ride.
Mary Weston, Access Department, BHS, will be travelling up
from Warwickshire to take part in the event and welcomes riders
to join her for either part of or the whole ride.
The ride will take place from 22 – 24 July and prices
are £20 a day for BHS members (£25 non-members)
or £50 for the three days. Application must be received
by 15 July. Please contact Mary Weston 01926 707814 or email

This really is a wonderful opportunity to either visit local
terrain or give your horse and yourself the treat of exploring
new territory. There are many B&Bs along the route, many
of which cater for your equine friend! If you cannot get away
on holiday this summer then this could be just the adventure
you are looking for!
