HONDA RACING F1 TEAM TO LOAN KLIEN FOR SPYKER TEST
The Honda Racing F1 Team will allow its Reserve and Test
Driver Christian Klien to take part in a one-day test with
the Spyker Formula One Team in Spa this week.
Whilst Honda's first priority is its 2007 development programme,
it has always placed great emphasis on supporting its young
drivers. As the current testing regulations have restricted
Christian's mileage this year, Honda wishes to allow Christian
as many opportunities as possible to develop his abilities.
Christian will test with Spyker on Thursday, the final day
of Spyker's three-day test programme.
Gil de Ferran, Sporting Director of the Honda Racing F1 Team,
commented: "Christian has had limited time in the car
this year as a result of the testing regulations. This test
with Spyker could lead to him returning to a race seat and
those opportunities do not come along often. As we have demonstrated
on previous occasions, Honda will do whatever is possible
to help our young drivers to further their careers and keep
moving forward."
