Friday testing action from Jerez
The temperature dropped and the wind picked up in Jerez today
for the third day of the team’s four-day test.
Combined
with frequent circuit red lights and intermittent rain showers
in the afternoon session, it was a frustrating day for all
the teams and drivers.
Rubens Barrichello began his day with an installation lap
in chassis 078-07 before returning to the garage to wait for
the track temperatures to warm up sufficiently. Once back
out on track, he completed a series of familiarisation runs
to further acclimatise himself to the V8 car. Barrichello’s
final lap tally for the day was 38.
Anthony Davidson continued his running in chassis 078-08.
He worked through an aerodynamic evaluation, alongside chassis
set-up work, completing 50 laps in the morning session.
Davidson spent the afternoon attempting to complete a tyre
evaluation; however, the frequent rain interruptions meant
that this could not be completed. Anthony circulated 19 times
this afternoon bringing to 69 laps his total for the day.
Barrichello will remain in Jerez tomorrow to take part in
a Michelin wet test.
