British Gymnastics - Women’s Artistic Gymnastics Event.
British Espoir and Level 2 Championships
June 9/10th, GL1 Sports Centre, Gloucester
British Gymnastics are delighted to be bringing top-level
junior Artistic gymnastics to Gloucester. This brand new event
format will for the first time see the British Espoir (aged
12/13) Champion crowned alongside winners in the Level 2 category.
The Espoir competition is seen as one of the most important
age groups as all eyes will be on possible candidates for
Olympic success in London 2012. This category has been given
its own separate billing away from its usual place in the
British Championships, to highlight its importance and give
onlookers a chance to focus on the true rising stars of this
sport.
The faces to look out for include 2006 Espoir Apparatus Champions
Danusia Francis and Nicole Hibbert of Heathrow Gymnastics
club, who have been recognised as two of the most promising
Olympic hopefuls as their coach Vince Walduck says: “Danusia
and Nicole are genuine 2012 Olympic members and I hope that
the time, the circumstances and the luck will be with us to
help them achieve their dream - to represent Great Britain
at the London 2012 Olympic Games!”
Another name to watch out for will be Niamh Rippin a member
of the highly regarded 2007 Team Championships winning Notts
Team and member of Britain’s Australian Youth Olympic
Team who competed in Sydney this year in an Olympic style
event for promising youngsters.
Saturday 9th June- Espoir – Competition begins 12.30pm,
end approx 18.00pm
Sunday 10th June- Voluntary Level 2 – Competition begins

Beam, and Asymmetric Bars with an all-around winner being
declared as the British Espoir Champion 2007.
The apparatus finals for Espoir will be held as part of the
British Championships in Guildford on July 8th 2007.
