Women’s British Championships- Day Two
The
second day of the Women’s British Championships saw
the best senior, junior and Espoir gymnasts battle it out
for apparatus glory.
In the seniors the title were shared with gymnasts from Liverpool
and Huntingdon taking the spoils. Beth Tweddle won the Gold
on the A. Bars (the only apparatus she chose to perform on
today) and teammate Hannah Clowes came out on top on the Beam
Hunts gymnasts Kayleigh Cooke and Marissa King took the Floor
and Vault titles respectively.
Junior all-around Champion Becky Downie (Notts) took the
Vault and Bars titles with teammate Laura Jones winning on
Beam and Heathrow’s Rebecca Wing getting gold for her
fantastic Floor routine.
The Espoir's joining, this competition just for the apparatus
finals this year, were very impressive with Heathrow’s
two starlets Danusia Francis and Nicole Hibbert showing why
they are being talked about so highly. Danusia won Gold on
both Bars and Beam with Nicole winning the vault competition
and Nottingham’s Niamh Rippin grabbing the Floor title.
