40th World Championships Squad Selections
40th World Championships, Stuttgart, Germany
1-9 September 2007
British Gymnastics are pleased to announce the Women’s
and Men’s Squads who are selected to take part in the
40th World Championships in Artistic Gymnastics in Stuttgart,
Germany, 1-9 September 2007.
The Championships is of vital importance since it will also
serve as Olympic 2008 Qualifications. Out of the 24 Men’s
and 24 Women’s Teams who passed successfully through
last year’s first round of the Qualifications, only
the top 12 will receive visas for Beijing. (GB women’s
Team ranked 11th out of 33 teams in Aarhus, Denmark 2006 and
GB Men’s Team- 19th, out of 43 teams)
British Gymnastics wishes success to all our gymnasts in
what is expected to be the toughest and closest competition
ever seen in this sport.

Final Team Selection:
The World Championship Team to compete; 6 / 5 / 4, will be
decided at the World Championships. This will be determined
by performance throughout the final stages of training and
will be selected by the Technical Director in consultation
with the coaching team, and approved by the Director Technical,
(Matthew Greenwood).
