Five Brits qualify for the World Cup Final; two more in
the reserves list!
Following the last two qualifying events for the World Cup
Final in Trampoline & Tumbling (Birmingham NIA, 25 Nov.
2006), in Savognin (SUI) and Salzgitter (GER) the International
Gymnastics Federation (FIG) has officially announced the updated
World Ranking Lists and the names of the top 8 finalists in
each one of the six disciplines (Trampoline Men & Women,
Individual and Synchro, and Tumbling Men & Women)
The names of five British competitors are included
in the Lists of the top 8:
* Claire Wright-TRA/W- 7 place Individual and 7 place Synchro
(with Jaime Moor)
* Jaime Moore- TRA/W-7 place Synchro (with Claire Wright)
* Samantha Palmer- TUM/W- 4 place
* Zoe McLean- TUM/W- 5 place
* Damien Walters- TUM/M- 6 place
* Mark Alexander & Simon Milnes are the first reserve
in the Trampoline Men's Synchro and therefore also have a
chance to compete at the NIA in November depending on the
decisions of those ranked before them.
The 2005-2006 World Cup season included the qualifying
tournaments in Sofia (BUL), Levallois (FRA), Krasnodar
(RUS) 2x, Ostende (BEL), Ghent (BEL), Savognin (SUI), Salzgitter
(GER) and the 2005 World Championships in Eindhoven (NED).

(ALG) 2004 were as follows:

The following events are already set for the 2007
- 2008 World Cup season: Quebec (CAN) in March 2007;
Kushan (CHN) in April; Sofia (BUL) in June, St-Petersburg
(RUS) and Zielona Gora (POL) in August. The 25th World Championships,
which will take place in Quebec (CAN) November 2 - 4, will
be the qualifying event for the Olympic games in Beijing 2008.
