WORLD CUP TUMBLING – KRASNODAR, RUSSIA, MAY 6th &
7th 2006
Tumbler Sam Palmer wins precious Gold in Russia
Chris
Adams Head Coach for Lynx Aylesbury Gymnastics Club reports.
A major upset took place in the women's tumbling final as
arch-favourite World Champion Anna Korobeynikova (RUS) missed
the gold medal due to an average first pass.
She had qualified for the final with a 3.50 pts margin in
the preliminaries but had to let the gold medal hang around
Samantha Palmer's (Lynx Aylesbury GC , GBR) neck for 0.20
pts.
Palmer delivered two solid passes and won with 67.90 pts.
It was the first World Cup win for the young British champion,
who was a bronze medallist at the last World Championships.
Celebrations!
This success increases the chances of Samantha Palmer to
challenge top positions at the World Cup Final in Tumbling
which will be hosted by Birmingham (NIA) on November 25, 2006.
