British Juniors win sensational fourth place in Europe!
”We said that this was a good team. They proved us
incorrect- they are a great team! Fourth place in Europe places
our Junior Men in the front line of international gymnastics.
With three chances in the Apparatus Finals they will come
back with a medal”, said Trevor Low, Chairman of the
British Men’s Technical Committee.
The British Junior Men’s Team led by the coaches Andre
Popov and Paul Hall presented one of the biggest surprises
at the European Junior Championships in Volos, Greece by finishing
in fourth place out of 25 Teams taking part.

Three British Juniors made the Individual Apparatus Finals,
which will take place on Sunday, 7 June:
Louis Smith, defending Junior Champion on Pommel Horse, Kristian
Thomas- on Vault and Daniel Purvis- on P.Bars.
Kristian Thomas is in 9th place in the Individual All-around
(84.450) and Louis Smith is in 12th (84.050). The new Junior
European Champion is Mykola Kuksenkov from Ukraine (88.625).
