“Milano-Pro-Sport” wins another 7 years Sponsorship
deal with British Gymnastics
At a Staff Meeting on Tuesday 7th February 2006, held at
the Headquarters of British Gymnastics at Lilleshall National
Sports Centre in Shropshire, a new 7-years Sponsorship contract
with “Milano-Pro-Sport” was officially announced
in the presence of the Company’s Managing Director Mr.
Paul Pendergest, and the BG Chief Executive Officer Mr. Alan
Sommerville.
Following its meteoric growth since “Milano-Pro-Sport”
was launched in September 1991, the company established itself
as one of the world’s major players in the sport.
In 1996 “Milano-Pro-Sport” won its first contract
to supply the British Gymnastics National Squads, and with
their continuous support British Gymnastics has achieved huge
progress establishing itself in the first division of the
world across the majority of the gymnastics disciplines.
“Our policy as far as kit for Great Britain is concerned
has always been “what is needed” rather than “what
is in the contract” and we believe that this sentiment
has helped us build such a strong relationship with British
Gymnastics. Although “Milano-Pro-Sport” has many
sponsorship contracts throughout the world our contract with
British Gymnastics has always and will always take absolute
priority”, said Paul Pendergest, “Milano-Pro-Sport”
Managing Director.
In addition to the kit the Company has been a main player
when it comes to contributing to the overall sponsorship of
events and promotions - the British Gymnastics Women’s
Championships, Glasgow Grand Prix, Personal Sponsorships and
the Annual BG Calendar, to name but a few.
“We are delighted to announce the continuation of the
Sponsorship deal with “Milano-Pro-Sport” and we
are confident that it will make a big difference for our sport
on the exiting road leading to London 2012”, said Alan
Sommerville, CEO of British Gymnastics.
“I am absolutely delighted that our relationship with
“Milano-Pro-Sport” will continue until 2012..
The new lines of clothing to be introduced at the forthcoming
European Championships are fantastic. I know that British
teams will be the envy of every other country when we march
into the competition arena”, concluded Matthew Greenwood,
BG Technical & Performance Director.
