Floor Final without Beth!
Unfortunately, the final day of the 38th World Artistic
Gymnastics Championships in Melbourne didn’t see the
British star, Beth Tweddle, the winner of the Bronze medal
on A.Bars in Saturday’s Finals.
The fact that, during the training before the Final on Sat.
26 Nov., Beth Tweddle badly scraped her knee became known
only after the Awarding Ceremony.
Unfortunately, during the night the condition of Beth has
aggravated to a point when she had to give up competing in
the Floor Final on Sunday.
To have achieved the Bronze medal under such circumstances
is a tremendous tribute to the courage of Beth who is the
perfect sporting role model to the many children who admire
her!
The day confirmed the fact that none of the 2003 Champions
from Anaheim were able to survive. New Champions emerged-
some of them debutants in World Championships, some- “veterans”
who have finally achieved their moment of glory!
On the Women’s side - full dominance by the USA, with
unquestionably the best competitors in this Championships.
On the Men’s side- a great day for Slovenia!
