Nastia Liukin, who lost the All-around title from Chellsie
Memmel by the slightest possible margin of 0.001 on Friday,
won her first Gold medal (9.662), followed by Memmel (9.587).
*Beth said: “I am really please! I came into the World
Championships hoping I could get a medal and it’s happened.
I am really, really pleased. I can’t say I was expecting
it, but I was definitely hopeful of winning a medal.
My routine went OK. There were some bits that were good and
some that weren’t so good. But overall I think I did
pretty well.
In the warm-up gym this morning I slipped off the bars and
scraped my knee. It hurt a little but I just tried not to
think about it.”
