GREG IS ‘FEELING BETTER’ AFTER SUNDAY’S
CRASH
Gregorio Lavilla is still recovering but is feeling much
better following his crash in race one at Oulton Park on Sunday.
He fell in the middle of the pack going in to the first corner
and other riders could not avoid running into him damaging
his ribs. Having been checked out by the medics at the circuit
Greg was able to compete in race two, finishing in 10th place.
Following medical advice Greg has been resting as much as
possible but having heard speculation about his injury he
wanted to comment on his condition.
“My ribs are still painful; it is nothing too serious
but they are heavily bruised and I may have cracked them.
I will have an x-ray when I get to Mallory Park on Thursday
to see but there is little that can be done if they are; I
have just been advised to rest. I am feeling much better today
than I was on Sunday evening and yesterday, although taking
deep breaths is still quite hard.”
However he will be competing at Mallory Park this coming
Sunday July 22nd saying, “I will not be able to train
as I normally would between now and the weekend so I will
not be in the best shape for the next race. I know that rest
is really important though so I have been trying to do as
little as possible. The problem is that I cannot sit still
for too long, I like being active! I am trying to keep it
to walking around and not running like I usually would!”
Greg is also hugely appreciative of all the words of support
that he has received adding; “I know that the crash
looked nasty but I am ok. I want to thank everyone who has
sent their best wishes to me over the last few days. I have
had a number of messages from my fans, other teams and riders
and it has been really nice to receive them all. It is very
comforting to know that even in the competitive world that
we work in people still care to ask if you are ok, so thank
you to everyone.”
