\'KICK IT UP A GEAR\' WITH THE AIRWAVES SPEED LEAGUE
In 2007 Wrigley’s Airwaves will be sponsoring the Bennett’s
British Superbike Championship lap record or fastest lap.
The title sponsors of the Airwaves Ducati British Superbike
team are extending their involvement in BSB by creating the
‘Airwaves Speed League’.
The Airwaves Speed League will award a bottle of champagne
and two points to the rider who beats the lap record or just
one point to the rider who records the fastest lap of the
two races at every round this year. At the end of the season
the rider with the most points will be presented with a cheque
for £5,000 to be donated to his chosen charity.
Wrigley’s Marketing Director Toby Baker commented on
the new sponsorship saying, “We are really pleased that
we are extending our involvement in British Superbikes especially
by something that has a perfect alliance with the Airwaves
product. Airwaves has been developed to ‘Kick you up
a Gear’ and that is exactly what you need when you are
trying to put in a fast lap during the race; whether you are
leading the race or battling your way back into contention
from further back. The Airwaves Speed League is a really exciting
development in our sponsorship strategy and we hope that the
riders in the BSB paddock get behind it and push that bit
harder to try to win the £5,000 for their favourite
charity.”
