ENGLAND BOYS TAKE REVENGE
England’s
golfers completed another superb victory when their youngsters
beat Scotland 12-3 in the annual Under 16 International at
Prestwick St Nicholas on Sunday 23rd September
Having lost the match 8-7 a year ago at Hartlepool, Scotland’s
first win in nine years, the English boys were keen to get
back on track but the morning foursomes gave no hint of the
final scoreline.
England went into lunch only 3-2 ahead thanks to victories
by Tommy Fleetwood (photo © Tom Ward) and Eddie Pepperell,
Jonathan Bell and Chris Lloyd and by Billy Downing and Adam
Myers.
But the afternoon singles proved a different story as England
lost only one of the ten encounters, although four went to
the final green.
