England

Adam Myers and Max Smith. The rest of the team will be James
Burnett, Matthew Chapman and Harry Whittle, all earning their
first England call.
Burnett has achieved several top three finishes in Lincolnshire
events including third place in the 2006 under 16 Championship
and runner-up this year. He has been a member of the county’s
under 16 team for the past two years and has won both his
matches for the Lincolnshire second team. He also finished
seventh in this year’s McGregor Trophy.
Chapman is highly regarded in Surrey and is a member of their
junior squad having returned the low afternoon round during
the Colts Championship. He also finished fourth in this year’s
Douglas Johns Trophy and won the Men’s Championship
at Bletchingley Golf Club.
Whittle won this year’s Scottish under 14 Championship
and the Douglas Johns Trophy, beating Carson in a playoff
in the latter. He was also named as reserve for the match
against Scotland, having finished tied sixth in the English
under 14 Championship at Porters Park. He is the current BB&O
under 14 Champion and has played for the county at under 14
and under 16 levels for three years.
Bell, the English Under 14 Champion in 2004, finished second
in the 2005 Douglas Johns and third last year and has played
against the English girls for the past two years.

14 Champion that year and finished fourth in this year’s
North of England under 16 Championship. He played for Surrey
in the 2006 Boys County Finals and his team came third in
the 2007 Dutch Junior Masters.
Carson is the English under 16 Champion following his victory
at Southport & Ainsdale in July. He is also the Long Ashton
Club Champion, the Gloucestershire Youths Champion and apart
from his runner-up place in the Douglas Johns he finished
tied second in the South West Boys Championship.

the girls for the past two years. The Cornish player has finished
runner-up in the 2003 Reid Trophy, tied fourth in the 2005
McGregor Trophy and fourth in the North of England Boys in
2006.
Lloyd, third in the Reid Trophy and sixth in the North of
England Boys, both in 2006, has enjoyed a successful 2007,
winning the South West Boys under 16 Championship and sharing
the North of England under 16 title with Tom Lewis, and finishing
runner-up in the Carris Trophy and the South West Boys Championship.
Myers, the English under 16 Champion in 2005, has been an
under 16 cap for the past three years. He finished seventh
in defence of the under 16 title in 2006, was a member of
one of the winning England teams in last year’s McGregor
Trophy Nations Cup and has also played against the girls for
the past two years.
