England beat Scots to finish third in Euro Youths

England overwhelmed Scotland 6-1 on the final day of the European Youths Team Championship in Spain to secure third place.
After failing to reach the final when they were edged out by Italy on Friday, England were determined to finish on a high. They took both morning foursomes, albeit by close margins, while three of the five singles went to the 18th green, England winning all three.

Only Paul Waring tasted defeat, going down 2 and 1 to Paul O'Hara while in the top match, Oliver Fisher just got the better of his Walker Cup team-mate Lloyd Saltman.

Spain took the title with a 4-3 victory over Italy in the final.

In the European Boys Team Championship in Sweden, England continued their disappointing form when they lost 5-0 to Portugal in the match to decide 13th place.
James Watts and Tom Hesketh lost the foursomes on the 15th green but three of the four singles went to the final hole, Portugal completing a clean sweep.

Norway won the title when they beat Scotland 5-2 in the final.
