under 21 squad member Danny Denison will tee it up with the
big stars in next week’s Open Championship at Hoylake
after safely negotiating the Final Qualifying.
Denison, 21, from Leeds (photo courtesy of Tom Ward) finished
joint top at Wallasey on 139, five under par, after rounds
of 70 and 69.
He finished alongside Gary Day and one ahead of Austria’s
Marcus Brier.
Just three players progressed from each of the four qualifying
courses but Denison was the lone amateur to succeed
