WOLSTENHOLME MAINTAINS GOOD FORM AND MAKES QUARTER FINALS
England's
Gary Wolstenholme is continuing his good form in Australia
and has gone through to the quarter finals of the New South
Wales Amateur Championship.
After taking second place in last weeks NSW Medal Wolstenholme
(pictured left - photo courtesy of Tom Ward) is making the
most of his opportunities Down Under. In round one he had
a convincing 11 and 9 win over Australian Justin Hurst and
yesterday's (Thursday) round two brought another convincing
5 and 4 victory over another home player Brendan Smith. He
now takes on Mitchell Brown who is the defending 2005 Champion.
Other England players fared less well with Adam Gee losing
in Round 1 and Jamie Moul losing 4 and 2 in the second round
to local NSW player Rohan Blizard.
Scott Jamieson is the only other British interest going forward
to the quarterfinals after a 6 and 5 win over Welshman Zac
Gould in round two.
