PEPPERELL IN ENGLISH TRIO FOR GERMAN JUNIOR MASTERS
Eddie
Pepperell, the 2005 English Under 14 Champion and runner-up
in the Under 16 Championship this year, is one of three players
selected to represent the EGU in the 54-hole Harder German
Junior Masters at Heddesheim Gut Neuzenhof Golf Club in Heidelberg
on 29th - 31st August.
Pepperell, 15, from BB&O (pictured left - photo courtesy

‘Stiggy’ Hodgson, both from Surrey. Sam Hutsby,
the England Boy Captain from Hampshire is also in the field
having accepted an invitation from the organisers.
Pepperell (Frilford Heath) was an impressive winner of the
Reid Trophy at Bristol & Clifton last August which earned
him a place in the England Under 16 Squad. This year he played
for a South East Regional team against Sweden at Meon Valley
and was a member of one of the winning Nations Cup teams in
the McGregor Trophy in which he finished runner-up.
King (Tyrrells Wood), 16, won the Surrey Under 14 Championship
in 2004 by beating Hodgson in a play-off and reached the semi-finals
of the Surrey Foursomes last year. Both he and Hodgson have
since produced impressive displays to force their way into
the Surrey Elite Squad.
Hodgson (Sunningdale), 16, has won titles at various age groups
in recent years. Last year he won the South of England Under
15 Championship and in 2006 he was named in the England Under
16 Squad. He also played against the Swedes at Meon Valley
and finished third behind Pepperell in the McGregor Trophy
at Worthing.
Hutsby, a former under 16 cap, has enjoyed a successful year
at home and abroad starting with victory in the Spanish Amateur.
He then finished joint runner-up in the McEvoy Trophy, fourth
in the Sir Henry Cooper Junior Masters, and represented England
in the World Junior Team Championships in Japan and in the
European Boys Team Championships in Sweden. The 17 year old
from Lee-on-Solent was then selected to captain England in
this year’s Boys Home Internationals in Scotland.
