LIVE SCORING FOR HOME INTERNATIONALS WEBSITE
The English Golf Union (EGU) today announced the launch of
the Home Internationals website. The new website, www.homeinternationals.org,
will include live scoring as well as all the latest news items
and information about the event.
The Men’s Home Internationals is one of Great Britain
and Ireland’s most prestigious team golf championships.
Contested by teams of the top amateurs from England, Ireland,
Scotland and Wales and alternating between the four nations,
the event in 2005 will take place at Royal St. George’s,
Kent from 7th to 9th September.
For those spectators who cannot attend the event itself,
scores for every match, as each one progresses, will be available
via the website so supporters can follow their home side’s
progress throughout each day’s play. Full details of
all of the teams, news items and the latest pictures will
be also be updated on the website.
James Crampton, Deputy Championship Secretary at the EGU
said, “Live scoring has proved a great success when
we have offered the facility previously. For those supporters
who are unable to travel to the Home Internationals venue
live scoring provides a great way to get behind their teams
as the Championship progresses.”
Royal St George’s is looking forward to welcoming supporters
of all four teams to the event, which is free of charge to
attend.
Stephen Patrick, Captain of Royal St George’s commented,
“I have the greatest pleasure in welcoming the players,
families, officials and spectators to The Royal St. George's
Golf Club for the 2005 Home Internationals. This is the first
time we have had the honour of hosting the event and we look
forward to respecting the best amateur golfers in the British
Isles as they test their skill and nerve over our links.”
England are the holders of the Home Internationals title
which was held last year at Prestwick, Scotland and also go
into the event as reigning European Team Champions.
