EGU ELITE SQUAD PROGRESS AT TOUR SCHOOL
Three out of the five members of the EGU Elite Squad have
progressed through the PGA European Tour School first stage.
Sam Osborne (Wentworth) put together rounds of 69-69-71-72
for a total of 281 and 7th place at Chart Hills.
Gary Lockerbie (Penrith) qualified at St.Annes Old Links
with rounds of 74-66-74-70 for a total of 284 and 11th place.
Richard Walker (Frodsham) finished with two solid rounds
to qualify at Carden Park with 74-75-68-71 for a total of
288.
Former Elite Squad member Ross Fisher also qualified at Chart
Hills for stage 2 with rounds of 74-68-73-70 for a total of
285.
Lee Corfield (Burnham & Berrow) missed out by 2 strokes
at St.Annes Old Links with rounds of 76-71-71-72 for a total
of 290.
Martin Sell (Wrag Barn) failed to make the 54 hole cut at
Chart Hills with rounds of 77-76-73.
Osborne, Lockerbie and Walker will now progress on to Stage
2 of the Qualifying School process with the aim of moving
on to the finals and securing their European Tour cards for
the 2005 season.

El Bosque Golf and Country Club, Chiva, Valencia, Spain (new)
Finals:

Venue: The San Roque Club (Old and New Course), San Roque,
Cadiz, Spain
The EGU is supporting these members of the Elite Squad through
the PGA European Tour School process as part of the World
Class Performance Programme funded by the Sport England Lottery
Fund.
Commenting on the players progress EGU Performance Director
Nigel Furniss explained, “Sam, Gary and Richard have
played well to negotiate the first hurdle of the Tour School
process. It will become harder for them the further they progress
but as long as they play to their full potential they all
have a great chance to secure a card for the 2005 season.”
