JUSTIN ROSE GETS YOUR SUPPORT AND CONTINUES TO LEND HIS
TO 'GET INTO GOLF'
Justin Rose has come out on top of the English Golf Union's
website poll, which asked the question: "Who do you think
will be England's most successful golfer in 2003?"
With 37% of the vote, Justin clearly has his legion of loyal
fans and they certainly expect the current top English golfer
to maintain his position and build upon last year's strong
performance on the European Tour.
It is no coincidence that Justin's amateur career was supported
by the EGU's coaching programme and this is something he recognises
by continuing to support their 'Get into Golf' structure.
He is spearheading the 'Get into Golf' promotional drive
to take the game into local communities to inform people of
any age, gender or background of the opportunities that exist
in golf, showing it is accessible, affordable and enjoyable.
Justin comments: "Golf is a game that can be played
by anyone, but it is vital that people know how to get involved
and I am positive that the EGU's commitment to grass roots
golf will help achieve this"
Other EGU initiatives to gain full support from Justin Rose
include the highly successful free golf coaching for beginners,
the golf club membership vacancy list and several junior specific
projects.
Richard Flint, EGU Golf Development Manager states: "The
EGU is delighted to have the support from such a talented
and articulate golfer and we hope Justin's involvement will
continue to increase the profile of our initiatives, ultimately
bringing more people into golf and through to club membership"
'Get into Golf' is just part of the EGU's overall commitment
to the development of the game, providing a nationally recognised
pathway for juniors and adults - beginning with promotion
and introduction through to golf club membership and beyond.
