England will seek to end a run of 11 years without a victory
in the event by sending 8 Elite Squad members to contest the
European International Amateur Championship at Nairn Golf

Fred Caröe, a former president of Cheshire, has accepted
the nomination to become President Elect of the English Golf
Union for the year 2004 with a view to becoming its President

Championship played at Helsinki Golf Club, 7-9 August.

Gary Lockerbie, the newly crowned English Champion, and runner-up
Michael Skelton, have been named in the 11-strong England
squad for the Home Internationals at Ballybunion, Ireland,
on 17-19 September.
