PREVIEW GERMAN GP
JORGE LORENZO IN SEARCH OF THIRD STRAIGHT WIN AS
HÉCTOR BARBERÁ AIMS TO CONTINUE RECOVERY IN
GERMANY
The Sachsenring circuit will host the German Grand Prix this
weekend, the final event before the summer break. The Fortuna
Aprilia team arrive full of confidence alter taking three
wins and a second place from the last tour races. Jorge Lorenzo,
victorious in Holland and Great Britain, is just one point
short of the 250cc World Championship lead after a sensational
run of form over the last few races. The Mallorcan has taken
95 points from 100 available and is once again the man to
beat for the whole category. Barberá, who missed two
races through injury and was still not fully fit for the last
round, has now fully recovered and is determined to recover
more points on the lead riders. The Valencian has worked extremely
hard on his recovery and the injury is now already consigned
to the past.
JORGE LORENZO
“We’re going to work hard to try and repeat the
results from the last two races so that we can go into the
holidays on top form. The start is always important at Sachsenring
because there is usually trouble in turn one so you need a
good grid position as well as good race pace. I’m close
to taking the lead in the series but I’m not obsessed
with beating Dovizioso. I’m just taking it race by race,
giving it 100% and not looking too closely at my rivals. I’m
on a good run and I will try to keep it going but I have to
use my head.”
HECTOR BARBERA
“I feel completely recovered from the injury to my
right hand and I’ve got mobility and strength back so
Ii think I’ll be 100% to try for a good result in Germany.
I’ve been working hard on my rehabilitation and the
progress is clear. Hopefully I can find a good set-up for
Sachsenring, something we didn’t manage at Donington,
especially with the front end, and fight in the lead group.
I like this track and I’ve got good memories of being
on the podium here in 125cc”.
