FORTUNA RIDERS PAY HOMAGE TO JOAN MIRO
Their
bikes and leathers have been inspired by the famous painter.
The FORTUNA riders taking part in the MotoGP World Championship
will wear a special design on the front of their motorcycles
for the Spanish Grand Prix, the opening round of the season
that gets underway this weekend. Rubén Xaus, Toni Elías,
Héctor Barberá and Jorge Lorenzo, unveiled the
new look yesterday in the build up to the Grand Prix in the
paddock at the Jerez de la Frontera circuit.
The team’s Yamaha machines in the MotoGP class and
their 250cc Hondas, both sponsored by FORTUNA have been decorated
in a unique style inspired by one of Spain’s most globally
renowned artists.
Miró and FORTUNA have the joint objective of international
promotion that reflects their creativity, optimism and passion.
These three characteristics unite the personality of the artist
and the Spanish cigarette brand.
Xaus, Elías, Barberá and Lorenzo – the
four main ingredients of a uniquely all-Spanish team –
will also been adorned in designs inspired by the legendary
Spanish artist on the leathers they will wear at this weekend’s
World Championship premiere.
Joan Miró (Barcelona, 1.893-1.983) spent the majority
of his life in the homeland of Jorge Lorenzo, Mallorca, birthplace
of his mother. Miró was a major pioneer of abstract
art and one of the forefathers of current conceptualist design
trends.
