Wins for Belluzzi, Gianniberti and Blancardi in the Challenge
Ferrari Racing Days came to a close today at the Paul Ricard
HTTT Circuit at Le Castellet. Over the weekend the event featured
on track action from the historic Formula 1 cars run by the
Maranello F1 Clienti department, the FXX cars from the programme
of the same name for “owner-test drivers” and
the F430 competing in the Italian and European Ferrari Challenge
Pirelli Trophy.
In the Italian series, race-1 saw victory go to Andrea Belluzzzi,
with the Motor driver crossing the line ahead of Giorgio Sernagiotto
(Motor) and Lorenzo Bontempelli (Rossocorsa.) Among the gentlemen
drivers in the Shell Cup, the win went to Giorgio Massazza
(Rossocorsa.)
The afternoon race went to Nicola Gianniberti (Motor/Sauro,)
ahead of Bontempelli and Sernagiotto, in second and third
places respectively. Then, Massazza once again took the win
in the Shell Cup.
With wins yesterday for France’s Ange Barde (Stradale
Automobile) in the Pirelli Trophy and Monaco’s Philippe
Prette (Baron Service) in the Shell Cup, competitors in the
European series of the one-make championship had their second
races today.
In the main category, the Italian Max Blancardi (Motor/Malucelli)
won, fending off Barde and Irishman Michael Cullen (Rossocorsa,)
while in the Shell Cup, it was the Swiss driver Lloyd La Marca
(Stradale Automobile) who stood on the highest step of the
podium.
The next round of the European Ferrari Challenge Pirelli
Trophy takes place at Hockenheim over the weekend of 22-23
September. The German round comes before the concluding event
for all the championships organised by Ferrari Corse Clienti
at the 2007 Ferrari World Finals, at the Mugello circuit from
24 to 28 October. Also in action on the Tuscan track will
be Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro, putting on their traditional
display on the main day.
